The 356 was created by Ferdinand "Ferry" Porsche. Like it's cousin, the Volkswagen Beetle, the 356 was four cylinder, air cooled, rear engined and rear wheel drive. Introduced in late 1954, the Speedster was an instant hit making it one of the most desirable collector models. The stunning design and handling behaviour allied to a simple and easy to maintain mechanics, with high durability, became an immediate success. A fully restored 356 Carerra Speedster (of which only about 140 were ever made) will currently sell for around £200,000 at auction
The beautiful 356 Speedster from Chamonix is exported to many countries throughout the world and it has been elected as the best in class of all replicas ever made. Lightweight and superior performance with a solid strength tubular chassis makes this a durable, fun and truly unforgettable car.
